Australian singer-songwriter Ainslie Wills has joined forces with American artist Old Sea Brigade on their mesmerising new track, Detour.
Having never met, the pair recorded the song remotely, with Wills located in Melbourne and Old Sea Brigade in Nashville, Tennessee. Wills was due to travel to Tennessee for a number of writing and recording sessions, however with the current global travel restrictions in place, the two artists decided to collaborate remotely.
The vocal tones of the duo work in perfect harmony, highlighting the lush and velvety characteristics of each musician. Wills gives an alluring and captivating performance, with Old Sea Brigade's soulful vocals creating an enchanting back and forth between both artists. The effortless track found itself in Berlin, where Australian producer Evan Klar worked on the release during lockdown.
“Detour is the universal story about knowing that you may be someone’s rebound and still falling hard, despite knowing the risks… love wins every time,” says Ainslie of the track. Old Sea Brigade added, “The making of Detour has been one of the most unique projects I’ve been involved with. The recording process has been a worldly collaboration amongst such talented people, most of whom have never met in person. I feel so inspired by everyone involved with this process and am really grateful to sing with Ainslie”.
Detour is out now! Listen to the track below.
